Game idea - Lego Themed City Builder
Here's one game I am totally dying to see someday. A city builder with Lego aesthetics and mechanics.

Instead of Dollars or Simoleons your currency would be "Studs" and you earn studs in two ways; First is by building your city as normal. And a second way is by conpleting "Building" objectives. For example, you are tasked to design a Police Station and you earn better points on how interesting and intricate the building you designed is. You could also earn better points by making wacky designs, maybe build your Police Station with Jail cells made out of CCTV Monitors, and complete a "Big Brother is diligently watching you" achievement that way.

As for the city building aspect, it would be similar to how things are right now, you designate R C I zones and balance out demands and service needs as usual. The major draw then is the hands on building aspect. And what would be cool though is any and all workshop content would all be made out of Ingame assets,... err bricks so the need for additional third party assets would be kept to a minimum.

As for ideas for possible DLC, they could be content packs with additional brick elements from officially licensed Lego set models. I'd definitely buy the Lego Creations Voltron Kit DLC if it were to happen LOL

Also Lego minifigs and vehicles DEFINITELY shouldn't be made using the current "Agent" mechanic.

I think you should request that on the company who creates Lego videogames, not on Cities: Skylines' Steam discussions board.

Fun fact:

The reason I became a fan of the City Building game genre was because the first SIM city that was released in the late 80's made me feel like living out one of my childhood dreams. Back in the late 80's and 90's the Lego group used to only produce their own content. Lego DC heroes, Star Wars and Harry Potter were non existent. It was all Lego City, Police, Pirates, Castles and Space. When you bought Lego sets back then you'd also get a catalogue of what sets were on offer during the current year. And on those catalogues were a few diorama photos of a full Lego Town, complete with base plates and all. Lego still produces sets like these but they've been mostly doing licensed stuff nowadays.

My childhood dream back then was to own my very own Lego town. Alas it is a dream I can never have. As Lego gave become exponentially expensive.

But then I saw the first SIM City and instantly fell in love with the game's premise.

Too bad the Lego group didn't venture out onto the City Building genre with their video games. Currently the only Lego video game out there that kinda poked around with the Sandbox building genre is Lego Worlds which is a Lego visuals Minecraft clone. But I'm still hoping.

Having a different type of Lego game should be a good idea as they can test new genres for the Lego videogame franchise. The recent games has the same gameplay mechanics from old games. Lego Jurassic World has the same gameplay mechanics as Lego Movie videogame that was released a year before, the only difference was the characters and the setting. Lego Worlds was more of a Minecraft clone.

It would be nice to see something like you requested, so that way we can experience something that isn't the same mechanics over and over again.
