large city slows down time acceleration...how to optimize?
I have a city, 150k people, and time acceleration really slowed down...

I get that more population = slower game, obviously.

My pc specs are near top of the line, however, so I was hoping that it would not affect me :) Im running a i7-9750 and a rtx 2060 on a beefy VR-built alienware m15 laptop... If it can handle various adult games on max settings in VR, and minecraft in VR with 4k textures and raytracing,i was kinda expecting it could carry a measly town of 150k pops...

Anyways, specs and VR rant aside, what can I do to get back some game speed? I really dont want to disable the traffic mod that gives me adaptive AI on my traffic cars... my traffic jams would come back with a vengeance...

Anything in the game settings i can tweak?

It isn't your hardware, it is the game's Unity engine that is the bottleneck. And yes, try to avoid any mod that affects the game mechanic, such as traffic managers as these will certainly reduce performance, but that is different to game speed reduction.
Not really any way to get around it at high population, even on top spec systems.
another question is how big is your pagefile (virtual memory)
They says game engine can't handle much stuff loaded and calculaions of all that sims. So, no matter how much specs you have, it gonna lag often. That's why population rank looks ridiculously as real count for city with skyscrappers everywhere and large airports.
