Migrating savegames
I've just acquired a second computer (PC), especially for gaming, to free up and save my trusty Macbook for other things. Downloaded Steam and installed everything in my Library, but in CS the savegames I have on my Mac are not there (while the saves in other games are showing up and are playable on the PC from where I left off on the Mac). Anyone know how to migrate my savegames so I don't have to start from scratch again? I was in the middle of a couple of cities that were going well... :0

Also if it's relevant, my Workshop mods and assets did download alongside the game and appear to be running fine.

One of two ways that I know of but only if you still have the game files on the other computer:

1) Start the game, click Content Manager, click Saved Games, click the save file you want, click Share. This will publish the save game to your Content—->Workshop Items in steam. From there using the other PC you can subscribe to that save and play it on the PC you want to use.

2) Use steam cloud. When you’re in th game, hit ESC to bring up menu, click save, within there tick the radial/box to save it to steam cloud. Click save.

Note - Not sure how this will effect the other PC if the save file is from a Mac. I don’t own a Mac, so not sure if the format of the save, etc, will be different and or compatible with a Windows based system.

But best way - locate C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps and [samepath]\Saves
and copy your work from there to your new destination.

There ya go, much easier lol I don’t know why I didn’t think of that! Any chance you know if a save from a Mac will work on a PC?

Yes, and the reverse as well. I’ve copied save games from a Windows laptop to my iMac with no problem. Important, however, that you also sync the settings for any mods you’ve activated.

Saves folder is different on Mac:

Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines/Saves

On Windows:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Saves
