Nothing shows up in Asset editor
It’s probably a mod, but I don’t want to go and spend ages disabling and enabling. What mod could be causing it?

I use quite a few mods, they don’t give any compatibility issues, I’ll post a list soon

Try restarting steam, this normally happens after a crash or by not closing the game down properly, you can also try verifying the game files too if a restart doesn't fix it.

Verify your Cities Skylines files by following the information here,if that doesn't help let us know...

Some mods don’t allow editor to work properly. Try disabling mods and editor should work.

Ploppable RICO mod is known to cause problems in the asset editor. Try disabling that one if you have it

Did you try Beantowns suggestion to turn all the mods off? and click load when you get into asset editor rather than new and all your assets should show.

That’s far too many mods enabled for using editor. I have several mods enabled that I found work fine with editor...like findit, moveit, network extensions 2. The other mods I have don’t show up in the editor but the editor functions normally.

If you don’t want to use content manager to go through each and every single mod then go to the workshop and create a collection. You have to actually go into the workshop, I believe you click collections and on the right side there’s a button, “Create Collection”. Just follow the prompts. When you get to the screen where you can add items to it, there are three tabs; Favorites, Subscribed and the other I think is other collections you have created. Click subscribed items. In that list will be every asset and mod you have subbed. Click the mods you want in the collection. After you put all the mods in that collection and save, you can view the list and in there you can sub/unsub individually or you can click the button at the top of the list and sub/unsub from all. The beauty of it is even if you unsub from a mod/asset, it remains in your collection for easy access so you can sub again without having to hunt it down in the workshop.

After you do that you can sub/unsub until you find what works with editor. Not many mods will, so it will be a short list I’m sure. But currently editor will not function correctly with the amount of mods you have enabled. Assets work fine in the editor, so you should be able to leave those enabled. Use the FindIt mod in the editor to easily track down your assets.

You don’t have to do that for assets. Just the mods themselves. I’ve never had to disable assets in order for the editor to work right, so your assets should be fine as is.

The editor will work with most mods enabled, you just have to find which ones and even then if the editor is working properly, not all activated mods will show up in the editor, but the editor still functions with them enabled.

I don’t have a ton of mods, but some I know work fine with the editor:

MoveIt! (Shows/works in editor too)
FindIt! (Shows/works in editor too)
TM:PE Labs (Does not show/work in editor)
Prop Precision
Custom/Workshop Assets (Use FindIt! To easily locate custom assets in the editor)

As far as collections for your assets - you could always break it down into categories like I did. It’s a bit tedious the first time obviously because you have a lot of assets but well worth it if you have the time.

Look...I’m disabled and sit around most of the time. Zip your assets into a file, share with me and I can create some collections for you, all organized and categorized and when done I’ll send it back to ya. Then you'll have an easier time subbing/unsubbing from the assets if you should decide you don’t want certain assets for a new map/save and again, you won’t have to write them down or go hunting them down again in the workshop. They will be unsubbed, but right there in your collection, just a click away from being subbed and enabled.

Also, when using asset editor, it's best to disable mods. Most of them don't check to see if they're being loaded in asset editor.
