Bug? Can't Start Industry - Main Building Locked Out
Just purchased bunch of DLC and installed, including Industries - Excited to get back into Skylines but I seem to be locked out of building the Industry "Main Building" to start that venture.

Ive installed all purchased DLC, including Industries, and started a new city.
After some build, I added Industry over natural resources, Forest and Farm.
I then specialized districts appropriately and traditional specialization began building.
Now I see that there are individual buildings for the industry, Main Buildings for Farm and Forestry. However when I try to select them, they are locked out with "Build 1 Industry" as the blocker.

I've tried a number of different routes, including setting up new industry spots over resources outside of existing. I've restarted computer to ensure all installs looked good and the startup page shows I own the DLC. Been looking online and youtube for 30 minutes but I am doing it all right I think - any thoughts?

As additional Troubleshooting Info, the only Industry Item I do have available is Warehouse

The Industries DLC add two new entries in the first tab of the district tools, it unlocks 1 milestone after the unlock of vanilla's specialized industries and can overlap normal districts.
The main buildings for farming and forestry will unlock when you paint an area with that new thing (preferably over the resource at least for the buildings that produce the raw materials but you can also let the vanilla specialized industries do the collection and setup your industry elsewhere with storage buildings to "import" from those).

Your district tool for the industry DLC hasn't unlocked yet. It is first unlocking on a higher population count.

I don't think it's related to population in this case as industry areas normally unlock on the first or second milestone. You haven't created a district for the industry area which is on the same tab as the tool to create normal districts.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

In the Districts tool menu, there's a separate tool called Paint Industry Area. You need to use that instead of painting a standard district.

Thanks! Yes I was used to District > Industry I had not realized there was a seperate "Paint Industry". Geez, cracked that right when I uninstalled my mod list in troubleshooting..

Same happened to me. I played all to hell last year and took a break for a bit. Came back to play again a few weeks ago and totally forgot how to create those new specialization areas lol.
