Generate traffic

I'd like to test some interchange designs and for that I need some way to generate traffic. So far I've tried to build a test city, but that takes a lot of time and I spend more time fixing the traffic in my hastily build city than with the interchange I want to test.
Is there any mod or anything that let's me just generate traffic out of nowhere? Like at the edge of a map?

That's how I got the idea. But I'd like to do my own experiments.

Does anyone have some assets to merge railroads? And assets/highway ramps good for heavy industrial traffic?

Install unlock all including monuments, then drop the hadron collider near the interchange. Watch the anarchy afterwards.
