Why is everything a DLC?
I've already paid $40 for the deluxe edition of the game and I don't want to pay more money for content that should be free. Why must everything be a DLC?

You paid for the Deluxe edition and you got exactly what you paid for, 5 landmarks, a couple of parks, a digital artbook and the soundtrack. No more, no less.
To expect anything more is just self entitled wish fulfillment and over active imagination.
You are not obliged to buy anything more. DLC's are optional.

I'm not saying cause I got the deluxe edition I should get DLC for free I'm saying this game has way too much DLC that costs way too much. The devs are milking this game for all the money they can and literally none of the fan base is noticing and continues to eat this ♥♥♥♥ right up. At least games like Arma 3 offer a lot with DLCs. Cities: Skylines DLCs are like $15 for not that much stuff. If I wanted to pay a ton for DLCs I would go play CoD or something.

Calm down, and stop throwing "entitlement" around. People are certainly entitled to things (for instance, the game he bought), but using it instead of "buyer beware" is too common.

The DLC for the game adds a lot of convention, buildings, and tweaks to the game that I personally feel warrent $15 per pack. It's the only thing I buy outside of Steam sales, and maybe a release by SuperGiant Games. I would hold off on some DLC though anyway because you'll want to experience the game in phases, like when it was released.

I like dlc, means the devs keep working on the game, improving and getting paid for it.

Too many self-entitled special snowflake milleniels wanting devs to slave for free.

All I can say is this:
This is (currently) the best, most polished city-building game in existence. That may just be my opinion, but I'm inclined to think it may be fact as well.

As long as they continue to hold that title in my eyes, I'm personally willing to shell out more money for more content.

Oh I'm sorry I expect to actually recieve updates for the $40 I paid for this game. The DLC is another $63. Space Engineers used to have weekly updates with more content then this and those updates were free. Don't get me wrong this is a fun game but I don't like having to pay a total of $103 just to get all the content of this.

You did receive updates. Free updates with every expansion. Didn't you check the patch notes? You don't need to have the expansions to have like half of the new stuff.

I agree it is probably the best city building game out there but I don't like the fact that it's $103 in total for all the content. Space Engineers used to have free weekly updates that would add more content then these DLC do.

You don't know the player's age, nor their expectations or intentions. Stop getting worked up over something that doesn't exist or happen. It's normal for people to advocate as consumers, and sometimes they frame it incorrectly.

"Half the new stuff"? Did you read the patch notes? We get 3 radio stations and a scenario creator. I expect to recieve actual content from updates. Not just some small changes.

Half was probably an exaggeration on my part. But I'm not just talking about this latest DLC. Look at the patch notes for the snowfall and after dark updates as well.

I did. After Dark update without DLC only added stuff to support night time. Which isn't very much stuff unless you pay $15. Snowfall without DLC didn't even add anything signifcant except some weather and changed some transportation stuff. $13 for that DLC. $63 in total for all the DLCs.

They've made one of the best games of all time imo, and also one of the most popular games on Steam.. So, they are doing something right.. Not to mention the city sizes, mods they allow, etc. are miles above what SImcity 2013 allowed.

Proramming additions like they've done take time, and they are more than welcome additions to the game which we should be offered as paid DLC. In addition, they've been more than generous with free things. If everything was 'free' they wouldn't have made it in the first place as companies aren't going to continously poor money into a product that doesn't have a monthly fee (liek an MMO). I'm more than happy with what they've done so far, and looking forward to more options later.

Paradox and CO have been very generous with the free content they have provided. You stated in your OP that you believe you are entitled to more because you paid $40 for the deluxe edition.
You are deluding yourself.

I am perfectly calm, thank you very much for your misplaced concern. I shall use the term entitlement where I see fit. When somebody claims that they bought the Deluxe edition, got exactly what they paid for but expects all future content to be provided free of charge, then that is as perfect an example of self entitled twaddle as one could possibly imagine.
Caveat emptor is something else entirely and I wasn't mixing my terminology nor alluding to such.
