No food in shelters

How should the shelters resupply? Currently all of my shelters are not being used and there is no food. Even the shelters which haven't been used yet.

I have the same problem, it's 100% on everything but food if you find a fix let me know.

Shelters resupply with food from industries, if I saw correctly. If you watch a shelter closely enough you'll see food trucks dropping off supplies to it. It won't work if the shelter is turned off, and the supplies will drain, so you have to put up with that $480 upkeep.

Hmm I don't actually have industries. I have an office focused city. Even with cargo trains, I get nothing :/

There's your issue. With no industry, you get no supplies. Industry is what gets stores running, including food, which is what a shelter needs.

yep fixed my problem put my shelters closer to industry now they're full of food thanks Braixen

Industrial and Commercial buildings will import material products and goods if they aren't produced within the city. At least, that is what happens in mine.

I put a small farming area near the shelter and the food supply began to fill.

Putting them near a cargo railroad station fills them right up

If you read what icon it shows, it tells you that you need to get more factories.

the problem is that later in the game, you don't have any industry, you have offices. I have my small shelter (I haven't been using shelters since i havent had any disasters, and only have a small shelter for about 25,000 people) right next to a cargo train station and it won't fill up on food very often, and when it does, the food disappears really fast

so if you havnt figure out by now three yesrs or so later the shelters have a limit by how much it can handle people wise compared to the food stock pile at any time did you change the food stock pile limit with EDS or something never raise the limit from one hundred thousand people and 30000 food stock pile with EDS or what ever your using once you return the stock pile limit to a resonable number it will right after you change and exit EDS show that the shelter is full of food if the number of food stock pile is to high it will never fill or show that it is filled and also i have them in place were industrial ares arent and they still fill just as long as EDS isnt ubnockshisly high or it wont show that its filled
