This game tought me that 15 fps is playable.

What are your specs? Its very CPU heavy and will slow down a lot the bigger your city gets.

I'm gonna jump on this thread because I'm playing on a cheap three-year-old laptop. How would I go about checking my specs?

I've used that before and it's said I can't run games that I can run at low settings.

This is a simulation game. It requires some CPU power, especially when the cities become bigger. Cheap laptops tend to have a weak CPU. You might be able to play it, but be prepared to slowdown and a lot of stuttering. Hell, even my 6700k get into troubles after a certain amount of population.

If you are not sure about it, I would recommend buying it anyway. It is a cheap game and it definitely deserves the support.

I bought a new tablet (actually 2n1 convertible laptop) as it had NVidia 940m and only an i7-6500U dual core CPU and I got to 100k and it is a little laggy, but it still is going strong. I lowered to 720p resolution and lag is gone for the moment.

You can find out your laptop info from outpu_log.txt file. It is listed right away near the top.
