FYI, it's Arid Plains. It is used in the trains scenario for Mass Transit. There are issues with the map where there are no water spawners along the rives and it causes weird dry spots in the river. You may need to use water towers on the map if it happens.
Or use Extra Landscaping Tools mod to add water spawns along the river. I think I added three even spread out along the length of the river.
In this case, the gradient for the riverbed is too steep and this creates the staggered wave behaviour in the waterflow. So, inserting water spawners along the length to maintain and regulate the surface level isn't enough. The whole riverbed has to be terraformed to get a gentler, shallower gradient to correct it.
Yeah, I am building on this one now, one tile 'north' of the start square, right next to the river. I belive there is another a couple tiles down toward the coast.
