Garbage on islands?

I created an island soley for tourists and i am curious how to get garbage trucks there i do not want to use a bridge as i have ferry's and i do not want traffic on the island (Its a small island) any ideas? i was thinking maybe a tunnel? but if i can avoid this it would be great no chance of putting a garbade site on the island either? any ideas???

Without road access, you can't get garbage off the island. You could edit custom assets to maybe not generate garbage and place only those on the island.

Maybe a mod that allows underwater tunnels + a mod that allows banning of all non-service traffic. If such exist.

There has to be traffic, if only because garbage trucks need roads to drive on.

You'll also soon find a need for other road anchored services when somebody keels over dead in one of your island's tourist plazas and pickpockets make their presence felt in your ferry terminal - and we haven't touched on the issues of fires.

found the solution move the island into a better position so now it can reach the entire city through a tunnel the main issue i had was i had to swirl downwards which meant there was more distant to drive for the trucks and less garbage could be picked up as the island was a small one but moving the entire island meant i could do this without leaving some of the city without garbage collection :D thanks for the ideas :)

You can use the Mod Traffic Manager President Edition. Then you can do an underwater tunnel and ban any vehicles besides sos and garbage.

Or you have to put a police and fire and healthcare and a garbage facility on the island. Or put them somewhere without any connection to the main city and connect it with the island only

What we really need is non-cargo vehicle-ferries. I live in a coastal city next to a chain of large islands and this is a very common form of travel here and around the world. It's really a base requirement for any city with interconnected islands.

Just plop this down on your island & don't worry about how to get trucks.

If anyone asked how you got them there tell them, they shipped on barges. :)
