tips for placing quays?
I am really frustrated with quays, and I've searched online but cannot see any good advice for what I'm encountering.

I am building my quays after I've done quite a lot of the city - it made sense to do it that way, because I didn't know how the edges of the river were going to work out against the shape my city took. It has been a big mistake.

First off is that the quay is difficult to place. It doesnt follow the line of the river very well, o even the road it is against, and it rises or lowers in height too rapidly.

But that is not the biggest issue. My main concern is with my bridges. I cannot place the quay under them. I cannot extend the quay outwards underneath them - even when I extend the ground out - becauce for some reason the quay just won't bend outwards, but would rather go through the ground. The only thing I can do is raise the bridge slightly so it goes over the quays, but that messes up the roads joining the bridge immediately before the river - they either turn back away fromt he river, or rise up to meet it at a right angle. In both cases, I lose zoning space and it looks nasty.

Has anyone got any suggestions for how I maintain the same places and road patters where my bridges are, but also get to have quays running continuously by the river?

Move It mod - how I ever played this game without that mod I'll never know. You can move your quays under the bridges and level to the same height, etc.
