Black Screen when finished loading
I need some help here. So I just got a new laptop with the latest tech. And when I downloaded the game all of my cities that I saved from the previous laptop are there. But when I load it rarely it works fine but now all the time when I try to load a city from my saves the loading either stop stops around at 50% or when the loading is finished it shows nothing but a black screen in the game. When I try to make a city after making in the map template it'll load and do the same thing with the black screen. I tried to hunt down some assets and mods that were not compatible and unsuscribed from them. But so far no progress. Is there any way (or even if it's a bug that is responsible) to get rid of this black screen problem and get my game running fine and ok again?

The time I had black screen I had foolishly changed the aspect ratio. After reading this guide I was able to fix it.
Try the launch command suggested here to confirm if it’s a workshop item causing you grief.

Can you optimize the game from NVidia panel?
ThatHomieKobe Jul 10, 2017 @ 4:19pm
I gone to the nvidea control panel and it kinda worked fine. But all of a sudden It stopped. I tried to change the settings in the panel in order for the game to work. But when It load black it showed me a mod message: The Mod C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\255710\414469593 [ExtendedBuildings.dll] has caused an error [ModException]

Details:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at ExtendedBuildings.ExtendedLoading.OnLevelLoaded (LoadMode mode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
at LoadingWrapper.OnLevelLoaded (UpdateMode mode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 I really want to know what that means so I can get the game working again.

Cities: Skylines is a more CPU-intensive game so it's better we find out what processor your new laptop has...
And you should at least try to play the game with all mods disabled, even just once, just to rule out if that helps/fixes the black screen issue at all...

As for right now last week I upgraded the RAM from 4GB to 8GB. My future agenda is that I have to upgrade this laptop Im using from a HDD to FAST SSD and also the CPU from i5 to i7. I tried the game with all the mods disabled last week and that also didn't do anything. My gaming processor is Nvidea NVS 3100M

Did you try this on a new city though? I mean maybe something with the old save/city perhaps? Or did you notice if this happens on any benchmark programs/other games? Sorry, I'm only trying to rule out the cause of the problem...

The previous cities that I created I saved to the cloud from my old laptop. I created my first city back on Saturday on this laptop and nothing was wrong but after that day I couldn't load the cities including the new one I created.

The thing is that probably the game wasn't working because this message: A Mod caused an error [ModException]

Details:
System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'ColossalFramework.Steamworks.Achievement' from assembly 'ColossalManaged, Version=0.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.
at EntryData.GenerateData () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 This gave me a clue that some mod wasn't working but in the game reality they're just fine. So what I did was that I uninstalled some mods that were not possibly not needed anymore. When finished uninstalling each of the mods that same message pops up everytime. Now to the game itself it'll load the game black screen saying this: Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

Details:
No details

I know you said that it worked last Saturday but did you try creating a new city now that there's no more subscribed mods? Just to see if that makes a difference...
If it still black screens on a new city, you could try to go to your Steam Library, rightclick Cities Skylines and click Properties. Then go to Local Files tab on the popup window, and click Verify Integrity of Game Files. You could try this, if you haven't...

I just turned off all the assets and the game seems run fine.Coming to find out now that there is one of the assets that were responsible for the black screen and for the game to not work.

Interesting... Well thanks for sharing

Is there a link to a forum where when the city is really grown very big that all of a sudden the cars suddenly stop on the middle of the roads and the freeways? they're not even moving when a city is at the metroplitian top of that stage. I like to find a way to fix it. Even if it's a bug, mod or asset that is responsible.

this is technically a different topic now, but here you go: https://steamcommunity.com/app/255710/discussions/search/?q=cars+stop+moving&gidforum=34095132079948419&include_deleted=1

By the way, some of those posts are irrelevant but there are other people having that issue.

Anyway, is it happening to a lot of roads? Perhaps you could try bulldozing one part of the road/highway(where they stop) and then rebuild it after the cars have cleared, to refresh the traffic system...
