Blueprint/Planning?
I watch a couple of people play this game and I think its amasing when they zoom out and see these massive cities they have made with multiple districts however, whenever I play I just end up spending hours figuring out road layouts and end up bankrupt from just building/destroying roads and reload the game to try again.

Is there a mod where I can put down blueprints of roads? I've searched on the workshop but couldn't find anything.

Yea I can mess about in that, but I did want try without unlimited money, just being able to design in a blueprint mode where I don't lose a whole bunch of money because I'm constantly changing roads and re-adjusting them.

I have a mod that if you press Ctrl+Shift+m gives you more cash 50k at a time.
You can get a bit or a lot, depends on what you want.I make templates of City blocks,
freeway on/off ramps and roundabouts. This saves me LOT'S of time and vastly
reduces the mistakes.

I'd just keep on your path. You are doing well. You just need to learn not to bulldoze all of the time. Just let it be. Most cities are imperfect. Just deal with minor changes. Soon you'll get the hang of it and be a master at it in no time. I highly recommend no workshop at all until you play a few different cities, so you'll have a better understanding of the game and know better what you need rather than what you want.

I recommend to do the basics. First, put in pause mode (the only time to pause a game is the first layout to save your money as you'll go in debt quickly.)

Then lay down 3-windmills for power

Then 1 water pipe and one sewage pipe, connect them together with water pipes, then connect them with power lines

Then extend the water pipes to the lower quarter of the map

Lay out roads on the lower section (at highway entrance) Make sure to have a few thousand left fo misc stuff.

Then connect the power lines to the road zones.

Lay out more roads until you run out of money.

Finally zone out a few block of industry on the entrance side of the city, residential on the exit side of the highway and finally commerce center of above.

Then unpause and watch yourself go in debt for a little. zone a little oif each until you get in the green a bit, than hit the x3 button and leave it there forever, with the only exception of bulldozing highways that will cut off your city or anything that cuts off large sections of your city.

x3 speed keeps traffic low as it matures faster and keeps traffic low.

Once you have enough money, plop an elementary school first thing. Education saves money and helps level up buildings as well.

Oh, I forgot I have a starting city layout I made at the request of someone that gets to the first or second level.

All good advice, i tried your layout when i first got the game.
Pretty good for beginners, nice of you to share. I STRONGLY
recommend some quality time in the editor first though. A few
custom templates of city blocks, rounabouts etc saves a lot
of real time as well as ingame time/money.

Hey there, I know I'm late to the "party" but I was wondering about the same thing myself. Have you managed to find said mod? It would be great to have the feature in the game to be honest.

You could find a Road map from google etc and use OverLayer V2 Mod to help, I have never used it myself so cant comment on how good it is, I do know that some youtubers used it when the game was first released.

Imo you should use the map editor and practice road placement. With a bit of practice making map roads look decent, you can easily start making "pretty" cities.

I believe the lastest is EVENBETTEROVERLAY which I have but have as yet never used.

Move It mod. Use that and you'll, very probably, never bulldoze again - not huge lengths anyway.

Allows you to move anything to anywhere. So layout your roads as you like then adjust them with the mod.

It is a game changer mod.

I never found a decent mod, I just had to create another game with everything unlimited and unlocked and kind of plan things out but switching from the two maps always changing the game settings was excessive and I slowly stopped playing.
