Space Elevator
Status
Ive placed my newly unlocked Space Elevator in a fresh Area, made for tourists.

Problem
The Space Elevator seems to "produce" Tourists. After reading a few older discussions about the Elevator, this is seemingly an intended feature.

However, said tourists (which are stated to be over 600 coming from the elevator) refuse to use the city wide transit, this causes them to start using their own vehicles which i am afraid of causing traffic jams.

Question
Is it worth having this traffical mess* in exchange for the income**?

side notes
* - I did not test if they would actually be a problem, as i do not want to mess up my current savegame.

** - And to an extend, do they even produce income that can be actually influent for my city?

Click on them and identify them. are they tourists and/or are they new immigrants.
Examine their destinations. Click on them and find out where they are going to. This will help you plan efficient mass transit routes for them.

Considering the upkeep cost of the Space Elevator and all of the mass transit you will use to transport them, any income the tourists bring wil be more than offset by the expenses needed to cater for them. So, they might make a little profit, then again they might lose you money. It's not so much about the tourists, but how efficiently you manage them. Efficiency pays.
Also always remember your biggest source of income is from residential taxes, so focus on levelling up your homes and keep your population up. As for how large a population should you have, it should be large enough to unlock the monuments and pay for their upkeep, so 75k+. A good rule of thumb would be to aim for around 10% unemployment.

to me this remain about self profit not reinvest
10% unemployment is a good target for your population. It ensures that all vacancies will be filled, regardless of education requirements, as long as you provide a fully comprehensive education. It also serves as measurement of sufficient population. If for example you see unemployement drop to 3-4%, then you will be facing worker shortages.
Fully filled businesses are the most profitable. When they start losing workers, they lose money. Therefore it is worth a little over population to force those vacancies to be filled.
The added benefit is that since residential taxation is your best source of income, a little over population can only make you money. There is no welfare system to pay for unemployed, so the amount of unemployed costs you nothing.
