Mini guide to better bicycle crossing
Some positive to report as well, I've been fiddling around with bicycle paths and I've come up with this nice solution I wanted to share with you all. You can see it here in a few pics:

Before, no crossing, standard

Proper crossing with pedestrian stoplights for the bicycle lane

Same crossing with priority signs give way for auto traffic instead of stoplights

It's actually quite simple. I'm using the zone able pedestrian roads from the network extension 2 mod to create the node. Then using anarchy I place the bicycle lane on top of that. Adding priority signs so vehicles actually slow down or stop for bicycle's, or switching stoplight on depending traffic density. Adding a few props, drawing the lines for the path and voila, a proper crossing.

I have connected all 25 tiles in this way, almost all bicycle rpads are connected like this or via tunnels. I'm still placing more as my city slowly crawls ahead. It's a nice way to pass time and really cute to see lots of bike's using it. When done properly with give way priority, it works like a charm. For your inspiration:

Use:

Traffic president 2 to add priority signs, switch traffic lights
Network Extensions 2 for the zoenable pedroad
Anarchy to place bike road on top of that.
Prop line tool and prop anarchy to decorate the crossing with lines
Maybe some more I'll check and edit

Enjoy
