You sound like you have a broken asset.
To check, use the --noWorkshop launch setting.

Sounds like you've got some broken mod / asset. Probably some old unsupported mod.

I don't know what you mean
Go to your Steam collection page and right click on Cities Skylines. Then Properties -> Set Launch Options -> write --noWorkshop

If this removes the error you know that a custom asset is causing the problem.

I used the no workshop launch ( wich disables all mods/assets ) and this is now the message:

Get rid of it.

I removed all assets as mentioned above. They all need Network Extentions Project. Removed that too. Now I'm back to square one.

Network extensions project was old anyway, version 2 is the correct one. You need to check all your mods that they actually are the supported versions and get rid of all unsupported ones.

Also if you have RICO mod installed, have you added local settings for any building like unique ones? That's known to cause that nullreference exception.

Will look into it ;)

I did now and all I can say that nothing worked. I've had it with the vanilla part and when it doesn't work with mods and or assests the game is no longer from any interest to me.
