d3d11.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) (Crash to Desktop)
Hallo,
Everytime I start up the game and I try to start a new map or load a save this error is shown. I tried updating all drivers (Videocard/directx/VCredist/DOTNet) and steam itself as wel as validating integraty of the game files.
I also checked if windows could find any problems with my RAM (Windows memorycheck) and it couldnt find any problems. I've also made sure that my Nvidia GPU us used over the intel Graphics

Note: I have been able to play yesterday for half an hour or so but the game crashed when I saved the game. The game crashed everytime with the same error ever since.

Note2: I have had the same error playing another game (Endless Space 2) but that resolved itself through sheer magic. I tried troubleshooting as above mentioned but that didnt work. only restarting my laptop 3 times made the error go away. Like I said must have been magic or something.

PC Specs:
intel core i7 2630qm cpu 2.00ghz (laptop)
8gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 650M (used for the game)
Intelgraphics (not used)

That's a DirectX error. Right click on Cities Skylines in your Steam library, go to Properties and try giving this command in the startup settings:

-force-d3d9

you should probably start planing for a replacement laptop. nvidia hasn't released drivers for like 5-6 years. also, you don't need anything high end to have better performance. anything with a ryzen will have integrated graphics that are like 50% faster than a gt650m, and you can find new laptops in that category for like 350-400$
