Framerate locked in 20s
I have an i7 and a 1080 and CS runs at 24FPS no matter what I do. It used to run above 60. Not sure what happened. Can anybody help? I have the steam frame counter turned on. This also happens in Kerbal SPace Program. Thanks.

Depends on mods and assets and how many you have of both. I have a i7 with a 1080 but i get around 80-100fps avg on a large city

Interesting. I have an i7 (hex core) and a Titan X (Pascal) and only get 48-51 FPS on my small little map (7000 Cims). This # is what that Dynamic Resolution mod cites, and the FPS stays the same regardless if I'm at 1920x1200 or 5760x3600, so this game is definitely CPU-bound, not GPU-bound.

The engine is not optimized and seems to bounce from computer to computer. Some people with same set up as me are only getting 20 to 30 fps while others are over 100fps. This unity engine needs work like asap

Updates don't really cause a drop in frame rate like that though, the lowest you'll get is a deduction of around 1-3 FPS. If you have a bunch of mods, this will also slow the game down...but not that much, with all 4500 assets and 82 mods, my FPS dropped from 64fps to a mere 55 fps. Medium city it goes down to 49 fps and large city is like 41fps.

Or you just $#!@%* your video card.

With my i54670k at stock speed, 770, and 8 gig ram I get from 60 fps all zoomed out, to 20ish fps zoomed in on a map with 20k cims. I can upscale resolution about 130% with no real difference. I even tested a map with 1 million cims, got about 17ish fps.

The game is definitely cpu bound.

Edit: I'd imagine you'd get higher fps though, still, OP. Bit weird.

I guess I should clarify. I was citing my "worst-case" zoom level. Zoomed completely out or completely in, I get around 65 FPS.

Nobody has a solution? This game used to run way higher FPS for me. It isn't fluctuating in the 20s it is LOCKED to 24fps.

Their really isnt one to be honest. Gotta wait for unity updates from the developers it looks like

yea its definately a CPU bound game, I'm on an i7 2600K @ 4.2Ghz, 16GB ram, GTX 1070 and I dropped to 15fps zoomed in on a 200K city

where as other game I play work great, between 40 - 144fps

To be honest though since this is just a city builder ya don't need high framerate all the time, its not the type of game where you are just quickly moving around shooting stuff up for example where framerate is important

Did you people not finish grade school? How many of you are going to post irrelevant information talking about framerate, how much FPS "your" city gets? Let me spell it out for you, HIS - FRAMERATE - IS - LOCKED - AT - 24 - FPS. No one cares if this game is CPU bound, or what computer you have. He/she needs a fix for the FRAMERATE BEING LOCKED AT 24.

Do you have any of the FPS limiter mods?

And you know that one doesn't beget the other how exactly, Einstein?

If it's not an optimization issue, then maybe he has V-Sync on and his monitor's refresh rate somehow got set to 24 Hz.

Where are your suggestions, Mr. Helpful?

You cant fix it mr smart ass, its a unity engine problem and no matter what you do your going to have bottlenecks. The game engine needs to be optimized better. Now, anymore ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ answers you wanna hear? Next time dont be a ♥♥♥♥

Mines was the same. Turned out it was G Sync causing it for me. G Sync on = max 24fps, G Sync off = 120fps. I set it to 'fixed refresh' in Nvidia Control Panel, and 'don't sync' in game, all fine after that. A lot of games act this way with G Sync, and I have it set Globally, so I just turn it off for those affected.
