Should I buy the Collection Bundle?
I'm thinking about getting Cities: Skylines but with my limited budget I can only buy the Deluxe or Base Game.
I'm afraid that I'll miss out on many things if I don't buy the Collection Bundle and get an incomplete expeience.
Any thoughts? Is it worth it? Is the base game still enjoyable?
Btw IMHO: The expansion packs cost too much, more than the actual game even.

Base game is worth it alone. Keep this in mind: initial release was a phenomenal success and very well received by all, and that was before there was any DLC. :steamhappy:

The Deluxe version only gets you a few more buildings and does affect the game play. Get the Base game and play it. If you still like it, the expansion packs are worth saving for.

But... I mean... The expansions cost even more than the base game. I just feel that I'll miss out on a lot of game changing things that I'll never get to play if I only get the base game

Sorry ... I meant to say does NOT affect game play. You are not missing out on anything special by not getting it. Save your money for an expansion pack.

Agreed, Deluxe edition is really just 5 buildings that only add aesthetic value; they do not do anything special that other buildings do not. It also gives you the soundtrack and a digital artbook. I can see the value in it, plus it's good profit which helps the devs create even more content and new games, but I'd rather purchase a DLC (or two, they're on sale right now!).

I have put around 140 hours into basically the base game, and mostly with no mods or assets. I purchased After Dark, but I have yet to get into tourism at all.

Actually each DLC was released with some free update introduced also in the base game, like the day/night cycle, so don't worry the base game is great!

Deluxe Edition is only 39 cents more right now. Obviously that's the one to get.

As for the DLC, After Dark and Mass Transit are the only ones worth getting.

As an earlier poster who suggested not to get it, if it is really that cheap now, then I would get it.

As for the bundle, not speaking of the deluxe version, you can get it at any time. The bundle will adapt to what you own already - this was different in the past - so it will offer you a bundle for the stuff you don't own already, the price is equally less then.

A lot of the stuff in the bundle is on sale right now, so would be a good time to get it. Each DLC adds some nice things to the base game, you can live without it, but why should you, if you can avoid it and it's cheap? :)

Just be aware that the bundle does not yet include the Mass transit DLC - I made that mistake yesterday. :(

The Deluxe version "only" includes some more eye candy. If I'd need to chose, I'd go for the bundle, because it adds a ton more value to the game, than the Deluxe version does.
