TRADESMAN: Deal to Dealer

TRADESMAN: Deal to Dealer

incredible difficulty
Having excessively intense combat encounters early in the game, coupled with rewards so meager they're unacceptable, is a serious issue. If every combat loss risks bankrupting me, then after every successful battle, I should decisively claim all loot from my enemies: weapons, clothes, hides, meat. If you’re unwilling to provide players with such substantial loot, then for god's sake, make enemy encounters a rare occurrence rather than facing at least two waves every time I step out!
In game design, it is crucial to avoid disjointed elements and a lack of clear priorities. From my perspective, the current game system is overly skewed towards combat: every trade route has an absolute combat threshold. If you don't clear these routes, the goods you acquire are completely worthless, as they can't be sold for any reasonable price in the wrong locations. Without money, you can't upgrade your troops, creating a vicious cycle.
I hope the mercenary upgrade system will be implemented as soon as possible (you'd better have it designed, otherwise the battles on the road become even more ridiculous, meaningless, and a waste of time). Additionally, let me reiterate that the current game system is strangely skewed towards such a simplistic combat system. Everything I've seen in the game so far revolves around combat—and yet, such an important part gives players almost no feedback or rewards. After going through great difficulties to open up a trade route, I might find that I can't make any money from it at all—I don't know where to sell the goods I bought here, and I don't know where to buy the goods that this place needs.
I don't know if you plan to implement a daily wage system for mercenaries in the future, but I can guarantee that with the current bizarre economic system, the protagonist will not be able to afford to pay the mercenaries.
In summary, I have no choice but to request a refund. The current state of the game isn't even worthy of being called early access.

You don't appear to understand what Early Access means. I'm sorry you could not figure out how to successfully play the game. If you would have figured out how to upgrade your mercenaries you would have had an easier time with the combat. I'm clearing roads of strength 10 right now.

In a game called 'Dealer', I was surprised to find that the fastest way in early phase to earn money is by repeatedly respawning monsters, allowing for the quickest, low-cost, and low-risk gameplay. Meanwhile, the way to open up a new trade route is by continuously upgrading the mercenary team so that they can defeat stronger enemies... I have to say, even a real mercenary simulator like 'Battle Brothers' does not impose such an incongruous hard combat power restriction on the player's game progression.
When I was still using a farmer as a mercenary, the map showed road difficulty + 5, and I was trapped in a guard camp and couldn 't move.

yes。This version is totally messed up

1. no trade = no meney

2. game maker use trade = emeny level

So 1.2 enters an infinite loop

as I said,in this version, trade is totally useless. If you want to continue the game, you just need set a group without any goods.
Then,Start to kill the raiders!get the loot and gold from the enemy! Then, sold the loot to town earn the reputation, become more strong--Kill more powerful enemy.
What a perfect loop of a battle game!
Excuse me?This is a dealer game? Are you serious?
So,why should I be a dealer?this game almost does not design any system for trade! All systems are ready for battle, battle and battle!

You can go robbing the robber route if you want to, but in that case you will not get exp from your main character.
You don't know how to trade. Trading is quite easy.
First. Never carry any high level item such as seemingly harmless chicken or toolbox That's what make high level enemy appear by raising road safety.

This game difficulty is only about 6/10
Do not ever carry any toolbox or chicken! , or even level 4 item.
You can see that they raise 'road safety' to level 5 , which mean more difficult enemy / high level enemy
You never / can not die. They only rob you. That's the easy part. So, you goal at the beginning is to just sell a little amount of low level item to the nearest town, get exp from it, and then upgrade merchant skill (skill "ration" is very good), and you will get stronger bit by bit, buy stronger merc when you have money.

This might be how to play the game, but its dumb asf to call this a trading game. idk , its very bad design.

I said "you can" doesn't mean that this only (or easy) way.
Trader route is a bit easier in my opinion. or the combination of both.
Whatever, it's not that important. Just don't carry chicken coop or item box. That seems what kills people

I do wish that for a game that seems to be focused on trading, that combat would play a lesser role. OP isn't wrong that it is overly combat based. Not saying the mechanics aren't workable, it just isn't really a trader game.

"Town next door wants a pick"
"Sorry, but I need a full suite of upgraded guards to get that over there"

Not sure what is the problem here.
Nearby town also wants eggs, and do not need a full suite of guards to get over there.
Choosing what type and what amount of item to TRADE (safely) is an important aspect of this game.

The idea that carrying a single pickaxe to complete a quest pulls more bandits that multiple loads of grain is pretty ridiculous.

that's a bit of nitpicking in my opinion

It's not being nitpicky. Saying the design balance is off. For a "trading" game, it's ridiculous that I can't even cart over a single item without 2 battles against 4 bandits each time.
