360 Wireless controller was plug and play with no issues.

It works great with a 360 controller, I've used ps2 controllers and an adapter with this game also, had to rebind some buttons but the game lets you easily map everything... Should work fine with ps3 might need to rebind a few things though.

I own a Xbox 360 controller wireless but I'd need to see how to get it working on the PC.

I bought a wireless receiver off Amazon for around 15$, and it just takes a USB port.
About half of Steam's games are plug and play, some of them require some patching, or creative mapping, but I think I've only had 4 or 5 out of ~300 Controller friendly games that I've needed to just learn to Mouse and Keyboard.
