WHY IS THE HAPPENING!!

Ok so the mission is called are the police officers hiding something in the west wing of the police station. I went into the station, blacked out the station so nobody can see me just like the youtube video, and then when you get to the west wing there is a trail of footprints in the lower left corner of the room, and again I tried this several times just like the youtube video but every time I tried I got caught, and have to start over, is this a bug or what cause I'm timing it just right but can't do it, and I can NOT move on until I get passed this stupid mission! PLEASE HELP!!

Bumping this dead thread for the solution since I had an issue with it too. To the left of those footprints in the police station there is a tiny little nub that sticks out of the wall, that's what you should click on. Basically just click the square corner.
