The Steam version of Retro/Grade was a lot of fun, even just using the keyboard. Can't comment on the USB guitar experience.

I recently bought Dropchord for my Android and it's a neat little rhythm game by Double Fine... who you've probably never heard of but they've done stuff... You use your fingers to guide a line and it's pretty neat if simple. If you like visualizers the game is basically that ontop of the game since the visuals constantly change as you're playing. It's not terribly complex but it's only a couple of bucks.
Just to add another, Groov in the Xbox Live Indie Games. The way the game creates an aural experience out of what is essentially Geometry Wars type experience is well worth the time to check it and see for yourself. It's worth noting this game got a lot of praise, even from people not fond of the controversial service.
Sequence is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible.
Well, actually it's better to think of Osu Tatakae Ouendan and Elite Beat Agents as 2 different games that use the same engine. EBA was made specifically to appeal to western audiences while OTQ was the Japanese original.
EBA is a tiny bit better, presentation wise. There's also more songs (19 vs 15). And full intro skipping, to get right in the game section (in Ouedan, while you can skip the story, you still have to wait for the song intro to play).
And other than that, they've the exact same gameplay.
So, it boils down to "witch of the game have the best playlist", and that's highly subjective.
You know and like classic japanese songs? go for Ouendan.
If not, stick with Elite Beat Agent.
...
Also, Rebcart, DJ MAX portable 3 is originally a PSP game, even if you bought it on vita.
(and you've missed Black Square and Clazziquai. But hey, all the game in this series have more or less the same playlist anyway).
It's an impressive list... I didn't know there was an Ipad version of Rythm Thief, or an anime-themed Taiko no Tatsujin on the PS2.
