DDR Pad Support?
So I can't get this game to bind to my DDR Game Energy pad. It's USB and has no issues in other games I've tried it on. Is there a way to bind it? If not is it a planned feature?

Using Xpadder or Joy2Key to bind the directions to the appropriate keyboard controls should work. However, see this for my concerns about using a dance pad: http://steamcommunity.com/app/255370/discussions/0/648817378234029902/#c648817378235680625

I don't see why double taps would be impossible with a pad. I mean I've seen people play things like this on a pad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUtfUnIQU18

How would you double-tap 3 simultaneous directions? Even with 3 feet you'd need some leverage.

Hand or using one foot for two buttons.

If you think that is tough... it's pretty easy compared to some of the more later songs in the DDR catalogue.

Xepher is just the hardest one I've seen someone play in person. This guy is also pretty insane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejXUK5SaxZg

Hi! Am also looking at how to play Kickbeat with a dance pad. Did you make it work? What did you use?

I got bored and gave up. :/

So I tried today and it seems to work rather nicely. I used joy2key to map input from my pad to keyboard keys. The only catch is that my dance pad actually generates two kinds of signal when I step on each one of the arrows. Each directional arrow is recognized as pressing a button on the joystick, and also as moving the stick in the given direction.
At first I used binding of keyboard keys to stick movements, but it had trouble coping with opposing arrows being pressed simultaneously (obviously, since this will never happen with a joystick). So I changed my bindings to joystick buttons instead, and since then it seems to work well. I was able to pass some of the songs on hard difficulty straight away, others will require training. But it can be done!

Good to know. I'll try to remember to try it out.

A "DDR" Game energy pad!? If you live in germany, then this is kinda really funny!

So I'm coming back to you after an evening of triple touches on my DDR Pad (should call it East German Pad, right? Or Deutsche Demokratische Republik Pad as Dunkelfalke suggests). My legs hurt even now but it's definitely playable. You will find there are many more countermoves compared to stepmania or ITG choreographies, but it can be done and it's fun. Try it out!
