I am personally moving Kh1 between my PC and my steamdeck, steamdeck was a bit too weak for Kh3 to play comfortably but kh1-2 and such runs perfectly.
Still, cloud saves exist, so it should be possible to transfer between machines, as long as both are online and you don't run into the cloud save size limit.
If cloud saves have never worked for you, you should look into what might be causing that. Is it just the Epic Store, or have you had problems with Steam cloud saves too?
I've also heard that the Epic cloud saves are encrypted, which would prevent you from transferring them to Steam. But if the Epic cloud saves haven't worked for you anyway, you wouldn't lose much from that issue.
Epic saves aren't cloud even though the game utilizes always online like a champ.
I will never in my entire life understand that combo.
However there is a tool where you make a new save on steam and then you load your epic save into the tool, along with your newly made steam save and it will fix up the steam save and copy your progress as I understand it.
And you might be right I'm already using 58mb / 100 mb and I'm still only on final mix 1, bit concerning with kh2 + bbs and chain coming up.
It should however not be a problem for kingdom hearts 3 as that game gets 100mb for itself.
I've had issues with multiple Epic games not working well with cloud saves between devices both KH 3, 1.5+2.5 remix both never synced my saves between devices, and I lost saves for both when I had to reinstall Windows, I've also had issues with Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, where the save wouldn't sync and then it thought the old save on my laptop was current so when I went back to my desktop it deleted my current save in favor of the old save and I lost game progression
Interestingly enough I do have FF7R on epic and cloud saves for that game have worked perfectly fine between devices and reinstalling Windows
And I've never really had any issues with steam cloud saves before
And a lot of epic games just don't have support for Epics cloud saves feature because it wasn't there at launch Epic was pretty slow to implement cloud saves into the service and some studios just never went back to enable it
You're good so when you boot up the X game for the first time the 100 save files/game or whatever is bundled into one file
I filled my KH1 and Re:com(Originally 3 saves each) now both at maximum save files to make sure of this im still at 19.50MB
Its constructed as one file.
