Sale could of been better. They are price/hype gouging.
Listen up Square. I get it. The idea of you bringing this to steam was kinda dead or iffy at best for a long time.

Recently you guys as a company had to come out and publicly say "Us putting FF16 and the FF7 remakes exclusively on PS5 for the first year was a bad call and we need to quit locking games behind certain stores/consoles because we aren't making as much money as we thought we would". Essentially announcing you want to be more platform/console friendly and quit being an exclusive company.

And then within a week this was announced coming to steam.
I assume that announcement of FF16 sales not doing so hot is definitely related to this steam release finally happening. I know it. You know it. Fans who paid attention know it.

And while some people may be thinking it's nice of them to also launch it on sale here initially I can't help but point out that it's been out on the EGS for YEARS and has had consistently better Sales/Price drops on that platform. So what gives? First you make steam users wait but then you also charge them more for the same game when on sale?

1.5 & 2.5 remixe EGS regularly goes on sale for $19.99.
On Steam it's $34.49

2.8 & final chapter EGS regularly goes on sale for $23.99
On Steam it's $41.39

KH 3 + remind EGS regularly goes on sale for $23.99.
On Steam it's $41.39

KH Melody of memory is still not on Steam ? ? ? ?

It's not like this is the very first PC port of the game. This is just selling the same thing on another platform. It even still has all the same bugs/glitches from the EGS version. You guys haven't even patched things up this whole time leaving it to the community to make mods that do so. So why are raising how much it is to buy it again?

You abandoned the games and ignored the audio/fps related bugs for 3 years. Now you expect everyone to pay more than you usual for it just because you're selling it at a new location?

The entire collection is available for $68 on Steam, $58 on Humble for Steam, and $56 on GMG for Steam.

So even the Epic sale price costs more according to your numbers.

Epic has been known to literally put the master collection (all of it in a bundle) for $49.00 if you're paying attention to the right deals/events.
They want to charge you $41.39 for 1/3 of the collection here on steam while it's on sale.

The steam Price bundles literally only get better because of third party people like Humble and GMG. That still isn't looking good for what they did here on steam bud.

Even buying the collection on playstation is $39.99 off sale.

I'm just spitting facts here that steam users are in fact getting the worse deal right now. Especially since it comes with all the broken stuff they never patched up over the years.

Although i'd argue the bundle here still isn't too bad and probably the only justifiable purchase. But individual purchases are whack right now.

Then why did you not list that in your original post? I was simply going off the numbers you yourself provided.

In the end though, if it's $49 for Epic or $56 for Steam... I'd always be willing to pay the $7 extra to not have it on Epic. =P

All of you upset about the price forget this is the same company that expected everyone to pay full price for the "definitive" edition of Dragon Quest 11.

"Full price" for DQ11S was $40 when vanilla was $60... and that too had a day one sale of $29 iirc. So to me it was worth it.

Tbh that's a fair critique of my post. I'm more so going all in on the individual pricing being a nightmare. Many will want to buy them slowly over time because of budget restraints etc. To which for those people the bundle isn't that great of a choice because with taxes and such it hits like a $73 purchase bundled. That's similar to a new game. Going to other websites as you pointed out will help a lot for sure. But you shouldn't need to either on older games like this.

And what am I? Chopped liver? Didn't read my response after? I'm joking. But any chance you can take a jab at EGS you should so it's kinda based for him to say this tbh.

the gmg price is good in my opinion, otherwise it feels like what the op wrote :D 68 bucks is still too much even for the entire collection considering how nearly all of the content is so insanely old.. still the 56 bucks on gmg feels like a fair price for steam day one, most likely gonna get it there (waiting for the june xp bonus pack to get it down to around 54 bucks though :P)

Ok, here is an idea - if you own the game on another platform then why buy it here too?
I'm also registered on GOG - which is why I don't own any of the Witcher games on Steam, as I got a massive discount on those there which I wouldn't get here on Steam. But also any other game I own there I do not buy again here.

It's obvious each platform has it's own price, so I don't see the problem regardless.

Who said anything about buying it in more than one place though? I was simply dropping comparisons about the sales. I didn't own the collection at all until I bought it on GMG today for steam.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥..... Who keeps track of discounts on other platforms they do not use? There is no point to that. If what you say is true then that would simply make you a penny-pincher
