No, it's encrypted. The other games can have their saves exported using Kingdom Save Editor

Nope. That's why the EGS is so trash.

You can't even move saves at all, if you build a new PC say goodbye to your save files.

You absolutely could, they were just in your Documents folder. Moved my KH3 save from Steam Deck to PC no issues.

EGS save files is in C:\Users\{PC username}\Documents\KINGDOM HEARTS III\Epic Games Store\ec588173027141ca830c671ff0914555\SaveGames\kh3sv2

Steam save files is in C:\Users\{PC username}\Documents\my games\KINGDOM HEARTS III\Steam\76561198258686340\SaveGames\kh3sv2

(the folder name before "SaveGames" may or may not be different for every user. haven't confirmed but i have a feeling so)

every time I copy the contents of "kh3sv2" to the Steam folder, then I start up the game, the game says "save data is corrupted, deleting existing save file" and just starts everything from 0 (given prompt to set up text and voice language again)

Yeah same.... hope they can do something or someone is such a king and can make a tool to remove the encryption of the save files somehow.

I posted about my issues on r/KingdomHearts and in the FB group and everyone told me tough luck.

I tried multiple times to copy my save files and move it my PC and SteamDeck, nothing happens unless you started a new save and tried to paste the old one, then your data will just be corrupted.

The pirated version allows you to copy and paste save files easily. I don't understand why SE/EGS made this decision. Totally not consumer friendly.

I've been PC gaming for 10 yrs this December. I know a majority if not all of us hates other launchers - but I've never see a game company / launcher do this before.

No cloud saves AND an encrypted save file system? Ridiculous. It's not even for every game either, just the KH series.

I went into the compatdata folder, then documents, copied the KH3 folder. put it on my PC, worked just like that
