Extremely low FPS on 4090 + 7800X3D

Having a huge problem with the frame rate on this game, it will run at the max fps (whether its 30, 60, or 120) and then plummet down to like 1-9fps. If i pause and unpause the game it will go back to max fps for like a second then go back to 1-9 fps

It’s a semi-fix but resetting my NVIDIA control panel 3D settings to default fixed it but only when using either the 30/60/120 frame rate cap. If it’s set to unlimited it still breaks

Yeah, gonna have to individually test each setting to see which one caused the issue for KH3

I'm not using v-sync and I still have the problem running uncapped or locked at 120. I'll try 60.

That didn’t work for me only capping at 60fps max settings fixed it for me. I don’t wanna play with low fps though 😓

You went to the NVIDIA Control Panel, then "Manage 3D settings", then went to the "Global Settings" tab, then clicked "Restore" on the bottom right, then restarted your computer? That's what I did, then set the FPS lock to 120, and it was fixed.

ALTHOUGH I will say I have only tested the very beginning of the game where you are picking your difficulty because even there I was getting less than 10 fps

My global settings is always set to default, I change the settings for each game individually. I even restored it for the games individually to see if would work but nothing changed. When I lock at 60fps there is no frame drops whatsoever.

So there is not really a fix other than capping at 60fps, I guess.

Gotta be one, just don’t know what. My friend runs this game at the 120fps cap max settings with zero issues and his PC is weaker than mine. I just don’t know what’s causing it

Imagine calling 60fps low. The human eye sees at around 60 fps, anything more than that is pointless.

Imagine paying a lot of money for a gpu and a simple game that’s not demanding doesn’t use its full potential… If we wanted to play low fps we would buy a console…
