What does 2.8 mean?

I am not a Kingdom Hearts fan, or a player. Never played any kingdom hearts game in my life. However, how did they end up making a 2.8? I also saw a 1.5 and a 2.5? Do they just go through the decimals for sequels? I am confused.

The decimal is used when they rerelease a game that has additional content. So 1.5 included KH1 but also ReChain and some side content to help bridge the gap between it and KH2.

In regards to DDD 2.8 it includes some cutscene movies and that weird aqua game that fill in the story between DDD and 3.

If you tried to play just KH1 without the extra .5 youd have quite a few questions going into kh2 and same for DDD into KH3.

The kingdom hearts series has plenty of non-numbered releases between the main entries are deceptively large and story filled. All of em are full releases and not just spin offs.

Nomura himself said that he considers KH3D to be "2.6" if it was a numbered entry. Combine that with 0.2, and you get 2.8.

This nomura guy sounds like an interesting fellow. Not in a bad way, just interesting.

Holy crap Kingdom Hearts ended up with a lot of games. 2.8? I think Nomura needs to embrace the beautiful world of DLC. it might make this series easier to follow for a newcomer.

^2.8 isnt DLC for 2.

Its a collection that has games AFTER 2 that werent in the previous 2.5 collection
