Steam Deck Controls not Working

Can't seem to get my Steam Deck controller to work in this game. Only the virtual keyboard works ... I tried changing Controller Layout, Changing settings in the Game Properties to Use Defaults and then Enforced Steam settings, tried Resetting my Deck Controller settings from the Deck Properties. Reinstalled game. Sort of stuck here at like 63 minutes of playtime when its like just me trying to troubleshoot navigating the Main Menu .... Any ideas?

You may need to go into the controller settings after launching the game

I've been using both the steam deck controller and an Xbox controller and haven't had an issue (as of yet)

I did i start game go controller layout and nothing works properly

What proton is the game running

Are you running it on the latest Proton version? (9-0-2) I'm running it on that and it runs fine however having the framerate set to 90FPS sometimes causes random crashes so I switched it to 60FPS and no issues at all. ♥♥♥♥ the Wonderland boss though and that stupidly OP homing fireball he fires at you that's almost undodgeable when he destroys the table and chair.

I'm @ unlimited. I'm using the latest of proton as well.

I tried Experimental and all the diff proton still no controller. I did it by going to the Game COG Settings Properties and switching there. This is really bad over 1 hour 30 minute spent trying to troubleshoot this game might just refund before I hit the 2 hour mark

Yeah that's odd. I wish I had more to say to help. It's just been working as is for me.

I can only think it could be your Steam Deck needs to be updated. Not having the Deck up to date to play newer games can causes issues so make sure it's up to date otherwise I really don't know, it just worked for me no tinkering required nothing.

I wish I could do more.
