Chronological Order?
I have now bought all of the Kingdom Hearts bundles. But now comes the question: What is the chronological order in which you have to play the games? So they make logical sense in terms of the story, since some titles take place before Kingdom Hearts 1.

Can someone help me with that?

There's a guide that gets passed around to help out with that.

It isn't chronological order, but chronological order is a weird way to play Kingdom Hearts in general.

I personally prefer the feeling of playing 1 and then 2, and playing Re:CoM after to fill in the gaps, because the story of 2 kind of works the gaps in anyway and Re:CoM isn't super fun for me.

Ignore chronological order.

Embrace Release Order

(you don’t even want to know the mess that chronological order would bring)

The games make MUCH more sense in release order.
mdesaleah Jun 15, 2024 @ 10:40am
So 1, Chain, 2, 358, BBS, Recoded, DDD, 0.2, Unchained X (mobile game), Back Cover, 3, Dark Road, Melody of Memory, Missing Link

To elaborate, the games are intended to be played in release order. Each expects you to know what happened in the previously released games, regardless of where they fall in chrono order. If you play them in chrono order first, you will not understand parts of each game because you didn't play the previous ones, AND you'll spoil events of future games. You'll have a miserable time with the story, and then you'll also have to go BACKWARD on game mechanics and quality of life, making for a more frustrating experience.

A lot of people have a struggle with Rechain's gameplay. Your knowledge of KH2 won't be affected much by skipping it and going back will just fill a few gaps in. It should be noted that Canonically Sora, Donald, and Goofy have almost no knowledge of what happened in Re:chain at the start of KH2.
Like these people said going birth by sleep first (chronologically the first) is only a good idea if you struggle with KH1s wonky camera and controls and want to be eased in. While it doesnt spoil anything storywise it does sort of kill the magic of KH1's keyblade plotlines (Playing KH1 first you go in like Sora, with no idea what a keyblade is and learning as you go). If you start with BBS you follow a story of 3 keyblade wielding champions who know exactly what they are and regard the situations they get into more like trained soldiers than traditional RPG characters.

And IF i would play all games in a chronological order? I know that many people says that i don't needed to play it in chronological order and it is a mess up. But i wanna try it in that way.

Yeah someone will come in with the chrono order eventually. You can also watch the Steam trailer and it shows everything in chrono order I think.
X Back Cover -> Birth by Sleep -> Kingdom Hearts 1 -> Chain of Memories -> 358 Days -> Kingdom Hearts 2 -> Re:coded -> Dream Drop Distance -> 0.2 Birth by Sleep -> Kingdom Hearts 3

I think that's everything covered in the collection. I can't tell you what it will be like playing them in chronological order. I don't want to spoil anything so I will put this in spoiler text just in case, but it's not a real spoiler

The newer games kind of retcon older ones so it will be an interesting experience and that's why I would recommend against it if anything

Anyway, play them however you like.

You kind of can’t.

Cause Missing Link isn’t out yet

Yes. Much better to play in Release order!

I get why people tell to play in chronological order, but at that point wouldn't make more sense to play the vanilla games (og KH 1 on PS2, CoM on GBA etc.)? 358/2 Days and Re:Coded aren't even playable.

Not to sound indelicate or arrogant, but these HD Remixes, right from the title menu, give you the right order to get through the series. It's all Square Enix's advice of how to follow the series.

This is actually false. For some reason the title screen places 358/2 days before KH2 which is very much a bad order. Neither chronological or suggested.

I purchased the bundle but I see three games, which is the correct order?

Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5+2.5 Remix-
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Rogue
Kingdom Hearts ||| + Remind (DLC)
