Worth playing?
Proabably a stupid place to ask but I always hear how great this series is. yet the disney characters really put me off seeing goofy running around with alladin etc. is this less silly actually in game?

there's no getting around the fact that it is a bit surreal and silly at first. you will either eventually buy into the premise or you won't. the only way to see if you're the type who will buy into the premise is to play it first. in my opinion the series does a fine job of grounding what seems to be an absurd premise. most of the time.

There's definitely a level of silliness, but the game takes itself very seriously despite that, which can feel pretty awesome or pretty camp depending on the player :) Enjoy the dive into the series!

Hope you enjoy it man, it's a childhood classic :er_heart::er_heart:

It is a great game. It may seem weird seeing Sora, Donald and Goofy in various worlds but that is part of the charm.

The story is surprisingly mature and can get pretty dark as well.

That's all I've heard for years. but the disney aspect has always put me off. I'll try to embrace it

this is not just a game, it's an experience, I know they say that about every 3rd game on PlayStation 2, but trust me, you should just enjoy the ride and don't sweat the small details, not everything needs a logical reason
why Squall Leonheart is hanging out with Merlin the Wizard? why Aarom, Pete and Hades are fighting Hercules and Donald Duck? who cares? it's a riot to see it happens if you don't think too hard about the logistic of it
is Cloud Strife a Copy of Zack Fair? why is Trevor Philips in the same city as Micheal DeSanta? why King Bowser wants to marry a human princess?
no one really needs that answered in the first 2 hours of a new game, just take it as face value and if it hooks your interest, in 20 hours from now, it will be something you be interested to find out

I've created a guide with the correct order to follow, so you can enjoy all the games without worrying about missing anything:

its a silly game but when you play KH 3 and you dont fight any Disney villains or meet any Final fantasy characters then you will start to miss how silly it was beating up Disney villains with a key

You have to be in the right mindset to get it. Think like an emo preteen in the mid 2000s.
