This port has way too many issues

There is zero excuse for how poorly this port is done. The frame rates are far too low, cutscenes are unwatchable and audio is out of sync big time.

And before anyone says it is my computer I can tell you it is not an issue with my computer.

OS: Linux Mint
CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X
RAM: 64GB DDR5 6000 MHz
GPU: RTX 4090

Everything is fully updated so there is zero excuse for this mess.

Edit: I have refunded this game and have no intention on buying it again until it is actually fixed. I know mods that can fix this is possible but I don't think a broken product should be supported.

Wonder if OP realises that indeed, Linux Mint is a pretty solid distro, but the nVidia drivers are not yet complete for Mint. And likely as not, theres probably an update for nvidias Win drivers that hasnt made it into the incomplete linux drivers yet to address the issues hes having. Also Proton is a compatibility layer, not a f**king magical make everything work solution.
Before you start jumping on me, i run mint on alot of my devices currently, including a newer laptop. Daily driver installation, also multiple boot sticks and a dual boot on a handheld device. Its a great daily driver OS, but perfect or ready for mainlining a gaming setup, it is not.

Wouldnt know, only started playing it today. I wont say i havent been waiting for it to release on steam. It is a recurring problem however, that ports or games that release on Epic early before steam do get dumped by their devs/publishers pretty quickly and rarely get fixed. This isnt always the case for example Mechwarrior 5. The epic release was nothing short of a thinly veiled early access, now that game is hands down a winner.

Dragons dogma 2 is a more recent example of a half assed port. KH is in far better shape than that dumpster fire.

wait for mods like KH Refixed to get updated to work with the steam version. That mod fixes majority of issues on the Epic version.

Honestly unless the game actually gets fixed I don't think I'm going to buy this again. Because I don't think mods should be needed to make games playable.

I have this issue (Epic version). It's caused by the built in vsync/fps limiter. Simply disable those and use an external tool to force vsync/fps limit like Mangohud. It fixed the issue for me.

You must not see that it does consistently lock to 30fps so the change in fps would feel like stuttering to some... just because you have magic eyesight doesn't mean the rest of us do ;)

Are Square Enix paying you for shilling this? It's a bad port, it was a bad port when it came out on Epic 3 years ago and wasn't fixed for this release. There are persistent audio issues, cutscene fps issues, the game does not work on pretty much all RDNA3 GPUs except for the Steam Deck and the launcher if infamously awful to the point it is generally recommended to skip it where possible.

You don't have to be a "shill" to have a game install and run fine for you. I've already ran through the tutorial section in 1.5 and 2.5 to make sure they work, those are the only two I'm gonna end up playing anyways. Controller works fine, graphics seem fine, I did get a CTD at one point in the first game but it was because I was alt+tabbing a lot. I think it's pretty hilarious if you really think anyone not crying like an entitled little kid must be getting paid by Square lmao. As for the Steam deck, I couldn't care less about that. I game on a computer, and don't buy into products that don't have an established history of actually working correctly. That isn't the games problem, that's an issue with picking specific/proprietary hardware instead of using a normal platform to game on.

Mine runs at 60. That's confirmed via the Steam counter and via Fraps.

Considering my Ryzen 7 and RTX 3060 is running it just fine, with only 16gb of ram, I stand by what I said. You could have the best computer on the planet and it still not run anything for **** if it has some turd-bucket OS. Or any number of other issues. People who think that running a program is as simple as having x,y,z specs are ignorant and shouldn't even be gaming on computers to begin with.

Yep, ran like hot ass before disabling Vsync in-game. Running 165 fps no problems after doing that (with gsync)
