Frame rate is super choppy
Started KH1 and the frame rate is unbearable. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm having the same problem. It's bad both in cutscenes and during gameplay. I've tried fullscreen, windowed, and borderless windowed with no difference. Same with the frame rate options.

The most bizarre thing is that when I hit the windows key and bring up the start menu while the game is running, that fixed the problem *as long as the menu stays up*. The moment I click back into the game it goes back to horrible frame rates.

I tried running the game on my mid-level laptop and didn't have this problem. So my guess it's something to do with way the graphics card processes the game?

Yes first thing is to avoid at all costs the false 120 fps mode , games doesn't support VRR FYI.

Second one and i STRONGLY advertise this (have own the EGS version so yes i know sadly) stick to only 30 fps if you don't want to have crashs (you will at 60 fps for sure in some areas it's certain or with a high chance)

Yes it will be choppy for sure but it's the best for stability , only KH3 can be play without any stability issue at say 60 fps and bit more. Some battles avoid the 120 fps you will have trouble (engine physic related).

60 fps is the smoothest for old titles (all except KH3 i mean) but it's not stable.

In fact these bugs due to the original ports (it dated since the ps3 hd port in 60 fps rightly) are the exact same saw and i can confirm them

blackscreen with partial HUD appears (Monstro by ex when you come back to the very first area in Pinocchio world)

Or unground in Caves of Wonder if you have a blackscreen when playing at 60 fps no wonder why (Aladdin's world)

For Tarzan the same(for say one of the advice was to just avoid to open some chests because they are linked to and game just freeze if bad luck).

30 fps however is very stable not single crash or other weird engine physics related.

Thanks man.

30fps kinda sucks tho.

Huu ? strange... in wtich settings and other n fact ?

I still wonder if they have really shift from dx12 to dx11 for the old titles..

I know for sure that since some updates (a big moment now) Windows doesn't care if bordeless or true fullscreen exclusive for performance wise

Refresh must be off in game because the v synch act strangely that i know and game had a strange behavior concerning the refresh rate i strongly advertise to put fixed refresh rate in Nvidia control panel or say it could work v synch in half refresh rate mode

By ex if you use 120hz monitor or tv you will be at 60Hz i know that the game doesn't like high refresh rate and also high framerate. Doesn't go beyond 60

The 120 ones is interpolated badly.

I begin to wonder if using frameagen lossless with30 fps won't be the best (ok with some maybe artefacts but at least perfect stability and best smoothnes)

It may be Gsync related. I disabled it and it helped me.

I turned off refresh sync and that fixed it. I have it at 60fps, which as is otherwise mentioned may cause different problems but at least the game is playable for me now.

Try setting refresh rate to "off". That fixed things for me.

30fps kinda sucks tho.

I know but it's like that i was playing and it's not even linked to highter fps= more heat and consumption who lead to that no it's that the worse.. ( i have an 9900k oc manual ghz and rtx 3090 fe since 4/5 years)

I am retrogamer so have the habit of 30 fps but i can notice the difference

I was going to buy the big collection with the big pack but sadly i have just notice that GMG doesn't have anymore (out of stock) my luck... I know i should have buy it there..Oh well i will wait

But really i man it for the 30 fps yes it's really stable, horrendous framerate but stable. 60 fps is much better of course but unstable.

120 fps false one is to forget it's the worst case scenario: not stable and not trhe smoothnest in THESE games. Only KH3 is different because of UE4 and recent one.

yes has i have said also games doesn't support vrr so yes g-synch AND freesynch

However just put the exe of the games in fixed framerate could do the trick.

For some if it's was related to a wrapper i could have advertised to use the DXGI ption (very useful when games use OpenGL base or Vulkan)

By ex recent Tomb raider remastered collection: use the DXGI prefered swap for OpenGL/ Vulkan it will for sure eliminate the stutters

Sadly i don't own the Steam version yet (but soon) only EGS one

Oh it will but yes very smooth yes for sure , in fact only mode that is smooth.

But keep in mind that the game doesn't have auto save so yeah wen you will crash i really hope that almost nothing have been done between saves..

I know the Refined mod help for some things but who knows...

Gonna try some more this afternoon with the Nvidia app and SpecialK framerate limiter.
superbegita76800 Jun 13, 2024 @ 5:41pm
Ah yes another thing ! It's simply but sometimes people doesn't realize that when you use bordeless mode , other apps and background will affect your gpu.

I have realize that there is some times

By ex w<hen you play back music in Youtube but you are also gaming well..you have all ineterest to put in perf mode BOTH of webbrowser AND your game of course

Either by add the ex of the game in Nvidia control panel or just (sadly in part) choose the performanc emode in generl (not let in Normall mode and just perf mode based by the apps you will add
