xbox controller defaulting weird?
First it has A and B switched, and changing the confirm button has it wrong also.

Then when I go to remap it isn't letting me set anything to right joystick up. Checked the buttons in a tester and it should work.

Has anyone else experience this?

i have the same problem, the most confusing thing is the right stick not giving any inputs except clicking it in is the start button, like WTF?

You can fix it in the settings, I did with my Nintendo pro controller.

Same, its very weird rn. If i try to change the settings via Steam Controller layout, it shows "left trigger" when i press A. Doesnt happen in any other game..

where in the settings? It only lets me do every button in order, so I get stuck at the ones that aren't working.

Currently doing this to both my xbox and switch controllers, even when I switch the settings in steam and in-game. Anyone got any ideas?

EDIT: Downloaded multiple different controller emulators, exited anything xbox controller related on my PC, and restarted steam and my PC. Nothing I do makes the game accept the right joystick up input.

It was the exact same on EGS, I gave up and played on keyboard but it's pathetic this is still a thing

I'm not sure if this is what actually fixed my controller, but on steam settings and controller settings I have everything disabled except "Guide button focuses Steam" and "Game Rumble". I then clicked to install the "Xbox Extended Feature Support Driver" which restarted my computer. After my pc rebooted I did one other thing, I opened services.msc on the Run app and enabled "Windows Management Instrumentation" because I had it disabled to play elden ring without loading issues. After I rebooted the game, I only turned on my controller after the game was in the menu, when my controller turned on, all the buttons were working normally.

I just fixed mine. Go through the controller settings/config. Press everything it says to press until you get to where the B button Illuminates. At that point press the A button. Then when A illuminates, press X, then when X illuminates press B. Then press everything else as illuminated. This will remap the Xbox controller and have A as jump and X as attack. Works perfectly.

I just disable Steam Input on most games, which then falls back on the game's built-in support. With Steam Input I've had everything from two controllers mapped to the same controller, buttons not mapped correctly or even not working entirely.

Did that with this one as well and no issues.

I'll say it again, as many times as people asks, Steam Input keeps butting-in into games that already have controller support and making some truly bizarre bindings by default

I turned off steam input, but nothing changed.
