Crackling sound?
Is anyone else having an issue with the sound crackling at certain points?

I had crackling on the main menu and all through the tutorial area, then went away when I got to the island. Then just started again during a cutscene in a cave on the island.

I just fixed mine by changing my headphones settings.

I have Corsair HS80s, on my windows sound settings they were set to 8 channel audio. Changed them to 2 channel and it sounds fine now. Hope this can help you guys as well!

Getting this too, literally can't play it right now because the crackling is as loud as everything else

The only thing I've found so far is that it seems to be tied to the BGM. It only seems to affect some tracks (didn't hear it again for the rest of the island but it has showed up again in the next place)

Turning the BGM down to 1 or 2 makes it so I can't really hear the crackling anymore, but of course means that the music is pretty quiet too.

I tried turning down all of the volume settings and just turning up my system volume, but I can still hear the crackling like that, so I guess it is just part of some of the tracks. I'm not really a fan of lofi music, but I guess I'm living with it here.

I have the exact same headset, changing channels doesn't seem to have helped for me, I tried every channel option I had and the crackling was there on all of them. Did you restart the game when you swapped to 2 channel?

I have a Corsair Virtuoso XT and switching from 8 channel audio to 2 channel also fixed it for me, thanks!

Ok, having saved and fully quit out of the game. Then set it to 2 channel (I assume any of the 2 channel options, I had 4 or 5 of them) and then relaunched the game, it seems the issue is fixed for me too.

Thanks for the help Ornge :D

I also have the Viruoso and switching to 2 Channel did not fix it. I dissabled the audio enhancements and it worked!

Right click the speaker icon on your taskbar, click "sounds" and go to the playback tab.

Right click your headphones, go to properties, advanced tab, on the dropdown menu there should be "2 channel, 48000 Hz".

Select that, apply and reboot the game :)

Same here, crackling is terrible, even in the main menu BGM. Steam Deck OLED.

@SilverGhost Yeap it's the same issue for me, it stopped when I got to destiny islands but then continued after in the other worlds It seems to depend on the BGM playing for some reason (very strange.)
