When is this going to be fixed?
To answer the guy asking for his PC, sure it may work well, the GPU in that APU is VEGA based as far as I know, so it shouldn't have as much issues as the RDNA3 based cards, but the easiest way to find out is searching in YouTube "CPU model + game" and see how it runs
I am lucky enough to have an Steam Deck so I have been playing the games there, but I would have liked to play it on my desktop computer (7900XT) as it is a much better experience. Please fix it, it is unacceptable.
I guess I shouldn't say it shouldn't be happening, but right off the bat this happens and we've all been wanting to play it on our PCs, but now we can't. I'm sick of gaming companies just not caring.
When is this going to be fixed?
You should be able to, but not sure how well u would be able to run these games, possibly in a lower settings. People like myself are having problems on the RDNA 3 platform while ur laptop is running on the older Vega 7 platform (i believe, correct me if im wrong). You should be able to play KH3 at 900p on low settings. You may not run into crashing issues like the rest of us but general problems like stuttering may still happen if not more since ur on a weaker gpu
DAY 3 OF ASKING WHEN THIS WILL BE FIXED
i dont mean this to argue with you, just curious. but how is this the case? kingdom hearts 3 works fine, any other game ive played works fine, i dont understand how we dont meet the requirements for a rerelease of a ps2 game? yet any AAA game which tends to be very graphics card demanding such as cyberpunk runs perfectly?
(for reference i am on a 7700 XT)
The games are simply broken, nothing more, nothing less. The affected cards could be 10x as powerful and it would not make a difference.
The games simply have a bug that affects AMD graphic cards and chips build on the RDNA3 architecture.
The reason why 0.2 and 3 are not affected for instance is, because they're both running natively in Unreal Engine 4, an engine that has no issues with said cards and chips.
The affected games are running under a wrapper called "Axa" which probably is the source of the issue.
But yeah, tl;dr: It's not a matter of performance. The affected hardware is more than powerful enough to run these games. The games are just bugged.
Also, do yourself a favor and stop thinking of ported games as their console originals.
Even IF you would "just" emulate the original console image, it woudl require a lot more recources than it did on the original hardware.
For comparison: It took a 3GHz PC processor to reach 100% accuracy in SNES emulation, a 3,6 MHz machine.
"These are PS2 games" does mean absolute nothing in terms of needed hardware performance.
So if you encounter a port of an old console game, treat it as a new PC game, no matter how old the game is that is ported.
