KH2: Dream weapons, abilities only?
I need a definitive answer on this. It's been some years now and I was always certain to maximise dps you had to pick the sword, same with the others and their respective stats.
But I'm now not able to confirm that, and can only see that it effects when you unlock abilities, like in KH1.
I seem to remember someone telling me that to do any meaningful damage to The Lingering Will you need 80 strength. That's what I did on the ps4 on standard mode. They could be a myth? I'm not going for proud mode so I just want to be completely sure of what the meta is considering I want to beat the lingering well on proud.

DO NOT pick sword on the higher difficulties unless you have a death wish. (even standard can be annoying without shield)
Sword = Once More at lv47, Second Chance at lv85, meaning you will not have it for 90% of the game until you're grinding for lv99 endgame. wand is lv65.
For Lingering Will, save him for after lv99 grind and just prepare to die over and over until you memorize his attacks and get lucky. He's one of the hardest bosses in the franchise.

Thanks good advise. Must've been a myth I heard about needing to pick sword to get max possible strength. It was a long time ago, I just believed whatever I heard. I did manage to beat Lingering Will on standard however. As you say by 99 you have all stats anyway. I will 100% be picking shield then, just like KH1. I just beat that on proud and it was NIGHTMARISH. Didn't bother with any secret bosses.

Sword is the critical lvl 1 speedrun choice, if youre good and you know what to do pick Sword. But in the end it really doesnt matter to much in KH2 imo as you unlock everything regardless of choice.

Seems that way. I was mainly concerned with how stats are effected but it seems my impression was totally wrong lol. Some guy at college told me you had to pick sword to get 80+ strength. I just believed that kinda ♥♥♥♥ back then.

Oh yeah the playground rumors for this series were wild. Luckily you can get 80+ str regardless of choice, just gotta eat those Power Boosts. :Mask5:

I just remember my first attempt on the lingering will waaaay back on the PS3, even though I was max level+ultima I just couldn't do it. Heard that rumor and I guess I convinced myself the reason was I had picked shield lol

Its sad, but once you figure out his trick, Lingering Will becomes a walk in the park.

Jump whacking the boss with a finisher in 1 hit, is a bit cheesy, but its not cheating. However, the problem is, that boss, has a very small window to get hits in, the rest of the time you are dancing around.

I have beat him legit, but its just not worth the effort when you can spam 1 shot finishers and never hit his retaliation.

People say that is cheesy, but to me cheesy is starting a fight by locking out half your abilities and calling that hard. This, is cheesy.

I didn't even know that was possible. I may well use it for proud mode.

Yea, basically you equip Fenrir (I think, the one that makes you have 1 less combo), and remove ALL of your air combo boosts.

Start the fight, jump then hit X. You SHOULD do a sort of jump slam. Then you just spam jump attack, jump attack, till hes dead.

There is only 2 bosses left for me in the 1.5 collection, which are the 2 hardest bosses ive faced as of yet. They are in BBS though, so the battle mechanics are slightly different, which makes it a tad harder.

I did all the Data fights, but I still need to do the ones in KH3, the only problem? My game is on critical. KH2, we have a few tricks that we can fall back on, like healing with form change. KH3 on the other hand, is slightly trickier.

Oh, I also have to do my data fights with pro codes on, because im a COMPLETE MORON, and chose to do pro codes on Critical. Suffice it to say, my life has been hell.
