Better ways to install mods other than KHPCPatchManager?
I've been using KHPCPatchManager to download mods and it's tedious. It takes a while to apply the patch files for the mods i download, and if i want to uninstall a mod, i have to uninstall the whole game and redownload it, which means waiting for an hour and a half at least. while having my internet dying on me while it installs the game. Is there any better way to install mods?

The OpenKH Mods Manager is always an option! It can patch the game just like the PCPatchManager can and is compatible with the pcpatch files that the games use, as well as lua mods.
There are also a good number of mods being hosted on Github which you can download through the program itself, and anything you download this way can also be automatically checked for updates. But one of the big pulls is that it includes a dynamic mod loader called Panacea which works pretty quickly!

Panacea doesn't work 100% with Re:CoM and BbS - music is streamed into those games, so they have to be patched if you intend to use music mods, but a good number of mods will still work with it and it's pretty much perfect for KH1 and 2.

The drawback to the Mods Manager is that if you plan to use Panacea, you need to make an extraction of the games you intend to use it with, and they can take up quite a lot of space. But I'd say by and large that it's worth it!

khpcpatchmanager should have backups enabled by default, if you want to uninstall mods, just restore that backup in the games folder

OpenKH's Github page has a pretty solid guide[openkh.dev] on the Mods Manager, how to get it set up and what it can do. I'd also make a shortcut for it and drop it somewhere else so you can easily get to it without parsing through all of the other stuff included in the folder.

How do you get a back up and restore it? Is it related to the Backup PKG thing in the options?

yes, thats the one. it then creates a backup folder with the original unpatched files in the games folder
