Need help with open kh
Im on linux and downloaded mods for kh2 from nexus. Openkh does open and let me add mods then use build but fails to run. Or build and run. Can only guess build is working as Build makes it close without error after showing a terminal.

I have the mods
"Donald and goofy damage huds"
"A bunch of keyblades"
"Wayward over star seeker"
"Alt title screen"
"Unhide ateuggle weapons"
"Atlantica button(like reset or continue song)
""CoM" menu over kh1"
"Bbs rage awakened theme"
"Hd textures"
And "rageform alongside antiform"

Only "a bunch of keyblades" is for open kh cause i wanna do randomised stats.

Rageform, atlantica buttom, and unhide struggle weapons are all lua scripts.

The rest are .kh2pcpatch.

Also my kh collection install is on a 2nd drive thats an internal ssd 1tb so for open kh i pointed to the /steamlibreary/steamapps/common/KH-HD...ReMix. (on the drive where game is) game extracted by the wizard fine.

I run openkh using wine. And kh2 using proton. The mods just won't show in game. What do i do here?

Has anyone gotten the mods to work on linux or steam deck? Everyone on youtube and their guides say "it just works" but my mods are never in game...
Admittedly I haven't tried running mods for this game in Proton, but have you read this section[openkh.dev] of the mod manager FAQ?

A: Absolutely! Most mod creative tooling will work just fine under standard WINE installs.

However for our fellow Steam Deck users trying to simply apply mods, OpenKH’s mod manager should work fine under WINE, Proton, and Proton-GE under the KH 1.5+2.5 prefix.

Note: Due to the nature of WINE/Proton, in order for mods to properly apply to your game, you must use OpenKH under the same prefix as the game, otherwise you will not be able to locate (and thus apply mods to) your game files.

That last paragraph is important. If you just run OpenKH with your system's Wine installation without any additional steps, it won't find your game install, since Steam's Proton and system Wine uses separate prefixes by default. (In fact, Steam creates a new prefix for each game.)

If you don't know what any of this means or how to run the manager in the same prefix, feel free to ask questions.

I ran it in the same prefix. Auto find found the installs. Even isntalled .net via proton tricks.

Run command from open kh makes the game open for a second now then die if opened from openkh. Even if no mods are applied. Tried pennance and no pennance. No diffrence. Opening from steam itself opens the game modless..

Yes the games are extracted. Yes i run build first.
any luck with this? I've gotten the game to build and run, and opening the console with f2 in game says the lua scripts successfully loaded, but it still just runs normally (using GoA)

I read that from a mod cummunity, that the update appearntly added drm which blocks mods. I tried to downdate the game on steamdepot was still too new. Ended up refunding and deleting. I donno how eveyeron on youtube claims its "so easy to mod" but never says how...
KHOmega's Refined Linux guide on github includes instructions for installing OpenKH and using pc patch mods. For lua mods make sure they're updated for the latest Steam version.
