Hey bud, I tried that. It didn't work unfortunately. :( Might have something to do with display resolution on the PC or of the game in combination with that.
It's not even that the final battle is hard, it's just annoying that it is four parts and not fun to play over an over.
I know that some said there were issues with the Epic Games port similar and many of us are having issues with the Steam port, so it is frustrating to spend this much money on a favorite game again and not be able to complete it. I have heard BBS is having the same issues by players, which is next on my list. I have a few crashes with KH 2.5 throughout with cutscenes, but somehow went a long way getting through each one until it crashing on this one.
Not that I have room for mods or anything, but I am for sure going to look into anything that can solve this when I start BBS!
I have AMD Radeon Graphics (Primary/Integrated). I know enough about IT to adjust settings but not enough to know what is important/why it worked. So the only specs I have listed don’t seem to show anything but device ID, vendor ID, subsystem ID, and subsystem vendor ID as well as BIOS version and part number. I made sure the drivers were updated and installed an AMD troubleshooter from their website.
Here’s what worked for me (no idea how/which combination really saved it all):
- 30 FPS selected in game settings
- 40 Hz selected in refresh rate advanced display computer system settings
- In graphics preference via device manager, added the Kingdom Hearts games and selected under properties: “don’t use optimizations for windowed games”
- Switched off Steam overlay in Steam settings
- Switched to borderless on 720 p in game settings for the display window
- Disabled GPU scaling in AMD Radeon settings
- Disabled AMD FreeSync in AMD Radeon settings
Best of luck to everyone. Going to try BBS now (not sure if I will try returning to default settings and seeing what happens or just keep these… 😩). It amazes me that this many of us have tried so many things and somehow it works for some of us and not others.
This worked for me, thank you so much
- Proton GE 15
- Windowed Mode
- 30 FPS (MY EYES!!!)
- 720p resolution
- Steam Overlay disabled
