Not what OP is talking about - 1280x800 meaning "1280x720 but with some black bars at the top and bottom that are each 40px tall" isn't ideal, but it's fine. No, what these games are doing is rendering at 1280x720, adding the 40px top and bottom black bars, then squishing THAT into a 1280x720 space, essentially doing the letterboxing twice. And I can't do Borderless Fullscreen at 1280x720 because that has the opposite problem, stretching a 1280x720 image across a 1280x800 screen with no letterboxing. This essentially means that I have to switch around my display settings constantly because they're synced via Steam Cloud - on Deck, Windowed 1280x720 for all games except for KH1 which actually does have true 1280x800, so Borderless Fullscreen for that. On Desktop, Borderless Fullscreen at 1920x1080 - can't use Fullscreen on Deck because that'll send my desktop resolution into conniptions if I open a game without changing it around first.
Wouldn't have been a problem if display settings were per-device instead of per-user or if they made the 1280x800 resolution work properly on a device with a 1280x800 resolution that they made specific fixes in these games to support.
If I set it to fullscreen on Deck, sync those settings to Steam Cloud, then open the game on my desktop, it attempts to open it in fullscreen at 1280x720, causing my screen to freak out in an attempt to get down to that resolution, messing up all of my windows.
