This collection includes most of these in either game or movie form, but you still need the 2.8 Collection before getting to 3.
Yes, you will bounce around the timeline here and there, but the overall story / lore expanded horizontally (it got bigger, not deeper) with each released game.
Even prequels will make more sense if you are familiar with the games that were released before them.
It's less that earlier games foreshadow story events and more that later games retroactively expand on events shown earlier, but they often expect you to already be familiar with them.
Simplest example:
Storywise, Birth by Sleep is the first game in the storyline.
However, it heavily builds upon lore and concepts established in games released before, like the whole deal with Heartless and Nobodies, how worlds are connected etc.
(although a correction to the comment above this is that Birth By Sleep is a prequel, but it is not the first game in the timeline. Cause the prequel got its own prequels with the phone game and Back Cover)
The Back Cover movie included in 2.8 is kinda a stand-in for it.
Have fun!

Thats a massive spoiler for things they wont even understand.
You do get some extra card drops after watching 358, but actually watching the film early is massively ruining both Chain and 2 elements.
Absolutely not.
358/2 is meant as an epilogue to KH2, despite being set before it. KH2's entire plot is a mystery, where you have to unravel what happened between CoM and KH2. Knowing the answers would make KH2's plot pacing fall apart at best, at worse having 358/2's plot fall apart because you don't have the context playing KH2 gives you.
Days gives a peak behind the curtain of both Chain's as well as 2's central mystery.
And the extra cards really aren't worth spoiling that early for two games.
wait "KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" from the bundle is something different from "the 2.8 collection"?
No, they're the same thing.
You get the collection for 1.5+2.5 (play all the games in the order I listed “release order”), then you play every game in 2.8, then you play 3
