Now you have:
- Final Mix: Easy.
- Final Mix.
- Final Mix: Proud.
The first one is a new difficulty mode, with extra additions like early items to improve defense, attack and magic, and equipment.
The second mode is similar to the original "Normal" mode, but it was reworked in -Final Mix- to be a little bit easier.
The third mode is like the original "Hard" mode, but it is better balanced since the Final Mix release. It also adds an ability called Zero EXP, that allows you to not level up.
And despite the difficulty modes, some bosses can be easier or more aggressive than in the original releasen but there are also new abilities you can use that will give you more chances to succeed.
For example, secret boss Sephiroth is now more aggressive with his attacks and will act at a higher speed. In contrast, you'll have an ability that allows you to use Cure, Cura or Curaga without being interrupted or loosing HP if you are attacked in the middle of the spell cast.
Hope you find this useful.
just like how I did 20 years ago
lmao
It would still be better than in the original release. Proud Mode is more balanced and the new abilities are really helpful.
Also, Proud is not too difficult if you level up enough before facing the bosses.
