Pretty much this
Hard disagree, the gameplay was surprisingly pretty damn fun. It felt really KHish. The story is a complete other matter, but the game itself is pretty good.
The game is not a fun singleplayer experience until endgame proud mode/ doing events. i really enjoyed the multiplayer and medal collecting, the power creep was a love/hate relationship and I think the medal system would work in a RE:KHUX game similar to COM.
With that being said... the actual story at the default difficulty is mind numbingly easy. I'm not saying you can't make a paid gacha game a singleplayer experience - Dragonball Heroes does a great job at exactly that but KHUX is genuinely a bad game for the average person who will probably play through on Normal. Square Enix would need to re-assess so much to re-release it and have it be enjoyable.
This is me saying if we ever get KHUX it will be RE:Kingdom Hearts Union Cross and in a different engine.
