I only know rudimentary coding and can think of ways to do it off hand. Not things like FOV and complicated 3d things,but I can't imagine anchoring UI elements to certain edges of the screen or scaling them dynamically is that bad, if the game is planned for it from the start at least.
As stated, Modern Subtitles did exactly that for BBS and it looks fantastic. Only odd thing is certain letters in the updated cutscene font have their outline cut off (and the outline itself is not thick enough) but other than that, this is how you make it consistent with all other KH games
I desperately need this treatment for BBS. KH1 just needs the subtitle font updated to not be oversized

Re:COM already has the perfect FOV for KH1, so just use that one
No need to make it as zoomed out as KH2 or DDD
