Transferring EGS saves
According to some admittedly quick google searches on my end, converting EGS saves to Steam saves is a thing for video games...? If so, will I be able to convert my files so that Steam will be able to recognize them? I don't care as much about the achievements. I just want all my games in one location, but I also have no desire to dump hundreds of hours into certain games *e.g. cough BBS* just to 100% everything again. Thanks in advance.

hey all, i found a way to transfer for the time being but its a bit lengthy.

I opened the steam version and created a save.
downloaded Kingdom Save Editor and opened my EGS save and exported my previous save. it made it into a bin file.
i then opened my new steam save and overwrote/imported over my steam save making sure to rename it to the proper name. (if youre importing multiple saves you need multiple slots or else they wont show up in the save menu.)
i then opened the imported save and clicked save.
opened the game and was in the correct spot the only issue was game time is incorrect but idgaf about that.

i only tested khfm but it should work with other versions and you should be able to import from emulated versions as well

When you say "create" a save in Steam, do you mean you have to manually save at one of the circles?

yes. khfm lets you do that in dive to heart in the tut, but as for the others iirc its a lot more annoying.

I doubt there's any way to know for sure yet but generally speaking since they're more or less the same PC port, I'd expect the save files to be stored in the same location.

Being paranoid I'd probably make a copy of them first to be safe, but hopefully it just works.
It turns out, steam's saves, at least for 1.5+2.5 have a '_ww' at the end of the file names, Epic's doesn't

I tried copying and renaming the epic saves to have the _ww at the end of the names, but the game unfortunately said the files were corrupt and that a new save was being made

tried this method for a kh1.5 ps3 save and it also worked. again the game time is incorrect but can be corrected in the save editor i believe. but im glad to have kept my proud progress.

Is there any chance I could add you for some help on this? I've been trying to move my KHFM save over, but I just can't seem to get it to work!

I just hope Epic would remove their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ encryption from the save games so we just can transfer the saves to not spend 80+ hours on Critical + Pro Code. (I'd do that again anyways XD)

unfortunately I don't think you can use the editor on Linux. but if you want I can try to help you out later and edit it for you. I think I've already figured out where to put it on the deck.
