So, i'm curious to what other responses this topic gets as well..
PGR 3 was my favourite, probably because it was my first encounter with online racing.. I easly clocked up 1000's of hours of racing my F50 GT online in that game
I loved grid on the xbox 360 it was a lot of fun. I also loved Dirt 2, but i don't see it any where on steam.... Never played Assetto or Shift 2 thou.
I do wish they had a racing sim of gokarts thou take me back to my racing days!
DiRT 2 was removed from Steam a few months ago, you can still buy it on trading forums like steamtrades.com and 3rd party keystores like Kinguin....
thanks for the tip!
The graphics look incredible, but more importantly you will be able to drive any car around any circuit like you can in Assetto Corsa, and the simulator has night and day time racing as well as a full weather system!
Project Cars will be available through Steam, and I strongly suggest checking out the official Project Cars website!
I'm a huge Forza series fan as well, and I mainly play Forza 5 and Assetto Corsa on the PC.
I have the Ferrari 458 TX steering wheel for the Xbox One and PC, and Assetto Corsa is brilliant with the TX steering wheel, even better than how the wheel performs in Forza 5! That's saying something considering the TX wheel is awesome in Forza 5 as well!
The only thing that annoys me about the Forza series is that whilst you're playing in single player mode, you can't select what specific cars you wish to race against in each class! You can only select a class and RWD,FWD or AWD, however, if you want all the cars in the race to be identical cars e.g. All Mini Cooper S cars, you can forget it!
The game randomly select cars from the same class with the same drive train!
Assetto Corsa and the up and coming Project Cars allows you to select any car, any track, time of day and weather!
At present since Assetto Corsa is still in development, there is no weather system or night driving. You can change the time of day any time between early morning to late afternoon!
assetto corsa is only early access but does look good.
Actually FYI you can do this if you set up a private multiplayer session; you get many more options for the race settings and you can still drive against all AI cars if you want.
