I recently got Assetto Corsa. Won my first race against the AI this morning. The cars and tracks are excellent, but you're right it's not quite there yet when it comes to the actual racing. I even missed having Nathan McKane biting at my heels at one point. Strange.
Yep, I really liked the Geoff Crammond stuff, especially GP4, which I though was amazing, sadly the last. Of course, the Microprose games weren't your typical Codemasters racer, being at the sim end of the market. And I think is the cause of much, nonsensical discussion over the last few years.
Ignorant people are too quick to compare the likes of Grid to the likes of Assetto Corsa, just because many were/are under the impression that the original Grid was somehow a sim. It was far from a sim, as is Gran Turismo. Yes, both simulate a racing environment, but neither correctly simulate the intricacies of weight transfer, suspension reaction, brake fade, tyre temperatures/wear, etc.
Too many people get caught up in the bullcrap of how this or that should react in the real world and lose sight of what is really important in a game. FUN. Codemasters have shown me that they can still put out decent, fun racers. And like I've said, for me personally, I've haven't truly enjoyed a CM pack racer since TRD2.
And to those whinging (this planets human inhabitants really need to stop bloody moaning!) about blurry cockpits, rubberbanding AI and whatever else; HANG ON A MINUTE! Codemasters have delivered a great racing game, it looks good, sounds good, runs extremely well and online works fine. If anyone here wants perfection then I'm sorry, you're on planet Earth, it ain't gonna happen.
And if people HAVE to moan (maybe it's a hereditary thing, or maybe you're just from Northern England, ha, j/k) then focus your whinging, whiny efforts towards the likes of Watch Dogs. That game is a disgrace as it stands.
What? So peoples complaints and criticisms and problems are just tripe? Please. Get off your unnecessarily high-horse. I've had a lot more people agree with me that the game is nothing special to downright awful then not.
All you're doing in your attempt to downplay others is making yourself look bad like the "fools" you're hating on.
Hi, have you played this game yourself. I just wondered what your own thoughts were?
EDIT Don't bother I see you said you pirated it, in another thread.
I didn't say that, you did.
But yeah, as Axe has said, why don't you just join the thread without being argumentative? I'm not hating on anybody, it's not in my nature, nor is arguing with a complete stranger over such an insignificant matter.
Finally, everyone hit the report button so we can get rid of this joker for a few days!
Not at all matey. I am just not bothered about opinions of those who pirate games OK son?
You have an opinion then fine, but I don't give sh1it. Got that now smartasz?
It was done 10 minutes ago...
No it's not... It's like saying you can't moan about how hot those pepers are if you just stole them
All I can think of - and it's not a necessity, so let's not get carried away here - are some decent looking cockpits. It would be a nice addition and appreciated by anyone who prefers the interior view.
I don't care why CM chose not to add them, but just tell us the truth, Loore, are we likely to get them?
No we are probably not... PC sales alone will not pay for the extra time and money it would take to model 80+ cockpits and still make x amount of proffit. And it's clear the reason why they are like they are is because of the PS3\360...
